March 8th This afternoon we went to Elon for a Vesper service, conducted by Miss N, head of the organ department at Elon. The music was beautiful. Just the thing I needed! Among the numbers were: “The Rosary,” Shubert’s “Serenade,” Mendelsohn’s “Spring Song” “A Pilgrim Chorus” and “The March of the Magi. Miss B played at the piano on one number by Rubenstein.

My grandmother majored in Music at Elon, so likely knew the musicians and the instruments quite well. She saved sheet music for these pieces for years, but mold did them in. This year, “Elon Day” was March 6th.
