#Erythrosuchus was also notable for possessing an unusually large head for its size, with a skull that reached up to 1 metre in length. You can get a sense of its scale from the photo - that’s my hand holding just the tip of the snout! Its large head housed a very powerful set of jaws.

Reaching up to 5 metres long, #Erythrosuchus was one of the first, really big terrestrial predators to emerge on land in the Triassic after the End-Permian mass extinction event (~251.9 MYA). It filled a top predator niche that had been previously occupied by #therapsids in the #Permian.

A pencil drawing of the Cynognathus Assemblage Zone, Subzone B. Two Male Erythrosuchus battle at the base of a waterfall as female Erythrosuchus watch on at the top of the waterfall. The waterfall has Triassic ferns surrounding it. A bloated corpse of an Erythrosuchus is floating in the foreground.
A comical pencil drawing of the Wolfville formation of Nova Scotia. A Teraterpeton and a Hyperodapedon family are shocked at the eruption happening behind them. The Teraterpeton was eating insects from a rotting stump and a single adult Hyperodapedon is guarding over a burrow with its family hiding inside.
A pencil drawing of the Chinle Formation. A herd of Placerias march through the Triassic desert as a Poposaurus watches on from a perched rock. Flies buzz around the eyes, nose and feces of the animals, the only source of moisture for miles.
A pencil drawing of the Madygen Formation. A gymnosperm branch frames an encounter between a Kyrgyzsaurus and a Gigatitan. The Kyrgyzsaurus is holding a threatening stance while its tail wraps around the branch. The gigatitan approaches slowly and cautiously. There is a sunset and a hidden Longisquama in the background.
Here's another archive post, This set was pencil drawings all about formations during Triassic period, descriptions in alt text. Enjoy!
