Green caterpillar with dorsal strip of white spots whose long body is surrounded with long light-green spined projections radiating outward like a sharp skirt from front, back, right, left and everywhere in between. Caterpillar is resting in alignment with the long axis of a leaf from which it has nibbled away the upper left quadrant.

Spectacular spines. I believe this is the #caterpillar of a #Baron #Nymphalidae #butterfly in the genus #Euthalia. Believe it or not – this is a very #cryptic look. Nearly walked by this on a leaf next to a drizzling nighttime trail at Mt #Kinabalu National Park #Borneo #Sabah #Malaysia
