The reverent quest to find the East Coast's most majestic trees — National Geographic Working off tips from volunteers, two giant-hunters are tracking down the biggest, tallest, oldest trees in the eastern U.S., from sweetgums on Staten Island to white pines in the Adirondacks.

I grew up in the #EvergreenState and have a deep love and appreciation for #trees of all types💙🌲

Here in #Massachusetts the leaves of the #TripleOakTree were just turning yellow when we met 🌳

In #Mississippi the #FriendshipOak was my fave #Katrina survivor 🌀
