The Financial “Star” Schema
To build our statements we need:
- Chart of Accounts Classifications (3 required tables)
- Fact Table 1 (Required), e.g. Sales or Actuals
- Fact Table 2 (Optional), e.g. Budget or Forecast
- Calendar Dimension (Required)
- Other Dimension(s) (Recommended), e.g. Customers, Products, GL Descriptions
