24 hours of running the fridge and deep freeze out in the garage on the F3000 alone. Nine percent battery left. No solar charging. Not bad. Our longest power outage ever was 12 hours a few years ago. Feeling good heading into storm season with this gigantic battery. #Anker #Solix #F3000 #AnkerSolix.
One note: Remaining Usage Time says 11hr 45 minutes because the fridge was drawing 94 watts of power when I took this screenshot. Most of the time the fridge isn't running at all, drawing 0 watts of power. Hence my overall 48-hour estimate. #Anker #Solix #AnkerSolix #F3000
Results are in for my 24-hour Fridge Test of the Anker Solix F3000. We used the fridge normally, and ended with 54% battery remaining. Pretty sure it would comfortably get us through a 2-day power outage. #Anker #Solix #AnkerSolix #F3000. Next test: fridge + deep freeze.
#HappyBirthday Philippe Adams, 56, who won the British #F3000 championship in ’93 & drove 2 #F1 GPs for Lotus in ’94 (pic: Lotus 109, Spa, ’94, DNF). Last I heard, he was working for Seat in Belgium.
#HappyBirthday Eliseo Salazar, 71, the only Chilean #F1 driver - #AnorakFact. He also raced in #F3, #F3000, #IndyCar, #IMSA, sports cars, #Nascar trucks, rally, autocross, hillclimb & #GPMasters. Pic: RAM March, Long Beach, ’83.
So #HappyBirthday Vincenzo Sospiri, 59. Fab in karts & a winner in #F3000 (’95 champ), he entered one #F1 GP, Melbourne ’97, in one of the worst F1 cars of all time, the Lola T97/30 (pic). A hefty 1.3sec faster in quali than team-mate Ricardo Rosset, he was 11.6sec off pole.(2/2)
#HappyBirthday Massimiliano ‘Max’ Papis, 56. He started 7 #F1 GPs, & he was a winner in #F3000, #IndyCar (#CART), #IMSA & the #Daytona24Hours. Pic: his 7th & last F1 GP, Nürburgring, ’95, 12th in a Footwork-Hart FA16.
#HappyBirthday Franck Lagorce, 57. A winner in #F3, #F3000 & #RenaultSportSpider, he drove only 2 #F1 GPs, for Ligier, in ’94. That year he entered Le Mans for the first of 10 times, in a Courage C32LM (pic), with Henri Pescarolo & Alain Ferté. More recently he’s done ice racing.
For no reason, back in the day when Birmingham F3000 Superprix (equivalent F2) raced around the UK’s 2nd city.
The 1988 Birmingham Superprix.

#HappyBirthday Jan Lammers, 69. Pic: his ’79 Shadow DN9, resplendent in one of the all-time great #F1 liveries, that of his sponsor Samson tobacco. He enjoyed comparatively little F1 success but he was an #F3 champion, a Japanese #F3000 winner & a Le Mans & endurance racing ace.
#HappyBirthday Ivan Capelli, 62. He was ’84 #EuroF3 champ & ’86 #F3000 champ; he drove 93 #F1 GPs (’85-93) for Tyrrell, AGS, Leyton House, Ferrari & Jordan; he bagged 3 F1 GP podiums; but he never won an F1 GP, for he was at Ferrari during the Scuderia’s ’92 nadir (pic).
#HappyBirthday Lamberto Leoni, 72. A winner in #F2 (Misano ’77) & a podiumer in #F3000 (Pau & Österreichring ’85), he struggled in #F1, entering 5 GPs in ’77 & ’78, DNQ-ing in 3 & DNS-ing in one. He then became a powerboat racer. Pic: Leoni in a March 743 #F3 car in ’74.
#HappyBirthday ‘Andrew Church’ (Andrea Chiesa), 61. A winner in #F3000 at Enna-Pergusa in ’89, he had one season in #F1, ’92, in the sluggish Fondmetal-Ford (pic), entering 10 GPs & qualifying for 3 of them, DNF-ing in all 3. However, he won the Italian N-GT title in 2003 & 2004.
#HappyBirthday Christian Danner, 67. The first #F3000 champ (’85), he raced single-seaters, sports cars & touring cars, including 36 #F1 GPs & 18 #IndyCar races. He’s a nice & clever guy, too. #AnorakFact: he still holds the old Nürburgring #F2 lap record.
#HappyBirthday Ricardo Zonta, 49. I’m sorry Ricardo, I know you were #F3000 champ in ’97, #FIAGT champ in ’98 & #WorldSeriesByNissan champ in 2002, & you started 36 #F1 GPs, but most of us will always remember you for your bit part at Spa in 2000 (pic). If you know, you know.
#HappyBirthday Toshio Suzuki, 70. He won the #AllJapanKartChampionship in ’75 & ’76, & the Japanese #F3 Championship in ’79. He raced at Le Mans, in Japanese #F3000 & #Nascar. In ’92 he won the #Daytona24Hours. He drove 2 #F1 GPs, both in ’93, both for Larrousse. Pic: Suzuka ’93.
#HappyBirthday Hideki Noda, 56, who started 3 #F1 GPs in ’94. He’d been quite successful in International & Japanese #F3000 before & he was quite successful in #IndyLights & #SuperGT after. Pic: his daughter Juju raced in #WSeries (pic) in 2022 & she races in #SuperFormula now.
#HappyBirthday Pedro Chaves, 60. Portuguese #FormulaFord champ ’86, British #F3000 champ ’90, Portuguese Rally champ ’99 & 2000, Spanish GT champ 2001, in ’91 Chaves had a truly dreadful #F1 season: in 13 attempts he DNPQ’d (did not pre-qualify) 13 times. Pic: his dire Coloni C4.

#HappyBirthday Giorgio Pantano, 46. In 2004 he drove 14 #F1 GPs in the mediocre Jordan EJ14. He’d previously won loads of races in #F3000 & would later win in #GP2 too. He was quick &, with better cars, he could have done well in #F1. Pic: his last GP, Monza, where he DNF’d.
Carlo Franchi died in 2021, aged 83. Why did he use the nom de course Gimax, you may be wondering? #AnorakFact: it was a homage to his 2 sons, Giovanni (Gigi) & Massimo (Max); Gigi raced a bit, too, as Gimax Jr (pic: #F3000 Reynard 90D, Silverstone, ’91). (2/2)
#HappyBirthday Philippe Adams, 55, who won the British #F3000 championship in ’93 & drove 2 #F1 GPs for Lotus in ’94 (pic: Lotus 109, Spa, DNF). Last I heard, he was working for Seat in Belgium.
