The Datsun Fairlady (also known as the Datsun Roadster in export markets) was a series of stylish, lightweight convertibles produced by Nissan between 1959 and 1970. Often called the "Japanese answer to the British roadster," it established Datsun’s reputation for reliability and performance before being succeeded by the iconic 240Z. Nissan Chairman Katsuji Kawamata named the car after seeing the Broadway musical My Fair Lady
