On this day in 1982, Argentine scrap metal workers and marines landed at Leith Harbour, South Georgia and raised the Argentine flag.
British forces then liberated South Georgia on 25th April 1982 under Operation Paraquet. 🇬🇧🇬🇸🇫🇰
