It's #FamicomFriday and I want to shout out Low G Man, a game one of my Twitch viewers requested for my NES streams a while back.

At first it felt janky and unpleasant due to the physics and controls, but it was for my viewer so I kept going. It ended up growing on me by the end! (Cont.)

As my tweets migrate over, just caught a few #famicomfriday ones. Great to see those posts again. Will defo continue that over here.

Haven't done #famicomfriday in a while. This time instead of screenshots I want to offer a sick tune!

Conquest of the Crystal Palace is a fun, charming hidden gem, and it's worth checking out! The soundtrack though... Gosh, it's so good. (Wait til the end of the 2nd loop for a sweet drum solo!)

(Also note the robot won't work like that as it's facing away from the TV 😁) #FamicomFriday

Hey Bluesky gamers. The weekend is nearly here and it’s Famicom Friday. Super Mario Brothers is where my (and no doubt many others) Nintendo journey started back in the eighties. Who knew that the little jumpman from Donkey Kong would go so far eh?

It's #FamicomFriday which means I'm gonna ramble about another NES game.

After bringing up the great but frustrating Ninja Gaiden last week, how about a lesser-known title in a similar vein? Vice: Project Doom is another action/platformer that goes for a cinematic approach to its story. 🧵1/3

Another #FamicomFriday and today I ask, is there an NES game regarded as a classic that you would argue is actually kinda bad?

I can think of a few, but today I'm bringing up Ninja Gaiden, a janky mess that's hard for mostly the wrong reasons (I think most will agree). I love and hate it. 🧵1/3

It's #FamicomFriday again and it recently occurred to me that you get to play as Keanu Reeves in Bram Stoker's Dracula for the NES! (I THINK you do, anyway... 🤔 You be the judge)

I actually do really love this lil platformer despite the fact that it has some frustrating design choices.

#FamicomFriday again! Is there an NES/Famicom game on your bucket list that you hope to beat someday?

I had a few of these and have beaten them, but the one that I still haven't defeated is Holy Diver. And holy crap... I haven't played it in earnest yet but I can tell it's going to be painful.

#FamicomFriday again! (I will keep trying to make this a thing 😤) Do you have a tough NES game from childhood that you finally defeated as an adult?

I had some of those. One was Sunsoft's Batman! Now I wouldn't put it in the highest difficulty tier, but as a kid I was hard blocked by stage 3. (1/🧵)

Faxanadu box art. The title is written in old timey font with a big curly line going from the u at the end back across to the left side beneath the rest of the letters. Beneath that is a silver shield with cracks and an engraving of a city with a giant tree towering over it. All of this is set against a light tan background with cracks as if it were made of stone or clay.

The bright color and a darker dull red is used as the color palate for a giant tree trunk looming over a city, part of which is resting on top of the title text which itself is made up of dull red colors with a bright outline. "Start" and "Continue" options are shown, as well as the usual copyright Hudson Soft and licensed by Nintendo etc

I'd love #famicomfriday to be a thing. 🤭 I used to stream NES games regularly and one of my friends requested Faxanadu. Never played it before but it ended up becoming one of my favs! Similar vibe as Zelda 2 but IMO it does it better. For an NES game, it felt incredibly immersive and adventurous.
