The dolphinesque people have echolocation - like dolphins.
Don't look a lot about the other species yet. Haven't met any of them. In all honesty, don't know A LOT about the dolphinesque ones either (there's only the one wanderer in Kindred of the Sea).

But at the same time, culturally the Alliance is also less profit and work driven.
Families are multigenerational so there’s less need to move out. Since all education is free, people pursue their passions and work in them easier.

Fantasy Worldbuilders Day 11: Does free will exist in your world?
Day 11: Does free will exist in your world?
Yes. There are certainly people who believe in things like fate and who believe the gods or others have some kind of influence in the stirring of things, but people still make their own choices. #FantasyWorldbuilders
Fantasy Worldbuilders hosted by Kira on the Wind 10. Are prophecies or psychic abilities real in your world?
10. Are prophecies or psychic abilities real in your world?
There are diviners and people who claim to and seem to see the future. And often there are prophecies that come true. There's still some debate on where that comes from and the validity of it though. #FantasyWorldbuilders
FantasyWorldbuilders hosted by Kira on the Wind. 8. Does your world feature nonphysical realms?
8. Does your world feature nonphysical realms?
Yes, for sure, since Ionnarah is a BUNCH of realms and dimensions stacked on top of each other. But none I've come up with that are relevant to this story YET. #FantasyWorldbuilders
Fantasy Worldbuilders Hosted by Kira on the Wind Day 7: Any notable bodies of water?
Day 7: Notable Bodies of Water
Junvale is cut off by cliffs but perched against the Osorio Ocean. Maelin and her roommate, Leera, both grew up in a sanctuary to an ocean spirit. #FantasyWorldbuilders
Day 9 of #FantasyWorldbuilders! (Catchup)
We'll focus on Azgorach for this one -- the closest example I have. There are two big caveats: firstly, that information is limited and from a dubious source; and secondly, that it remains unclear whether this is truly a *nonphysical* realm, given...

Day 8 of #FantasyWorldbuilders! (Catchup)
Some scholars and channelers regard the Éga -- my world's magic or 'the Source' -- as a nonphysical realm in a loose or philosophical sense. It certainly adds an extra dimension on top of the physical world when one views it.
Literally-speaking...

Day 5 of #FantasyWorldbuilders! (Catchup)
The Sunrise Desert is in the east of Ícalar and makes up the majority of the country of Balaqalneyis. Though I can't go into much of the 'why' of its existence (including most of its features) without spoilers, I *can* highlight first that its sands...

Fantasy Worldbuilders hosted by Kira on the Wind. Day 6: Flora/fungi found in the forest.
Day 6: Forest flora/fungi
Your standard fare, though a few flowers and herbs and mushrooms that are unique to Ionnarah and have magical properties for potioneers. There is also supposedly a massive beast in the nearby woods, though whether monster or protector it's unclear. #FantasyWorldbuilders
Fantasy Worldbuilders Day 5: Got any deserts (hot or cold)
Day 5: Deserts.
Throughout the wide world of Ionnarah, yes of course. In the area of Junvale? I don't know if there's a desert right there but it is a hot, dry climate. #FantasyWorldbuilders
Fantasy Worldbuilders hosted by Kira of the Wind. Day 3: Maps
A map of Ionnarah, a world containing 9 continents and the island of Solzu
Day 3: Any maps
I have an OLD map in progress of the world of Ionnarah. Junvale would be in the southwest corner of the Thysalin Empire, a little bit north of the Endless Chasm. #FantasyWorldbuilders
#FantasyWorldbuilders hosted by Kira on the Wind. Day 2: What's the size/scope of the world or story? Is it a planet? Galaxy? Smaller?
Day 2: Size and Scope
I have a whole 9 continent planet with VAST amounts of alternate dimensions plotted out for Ionnarah, but Moths WIP takes place in the Thysalin Empire, which is ruled by the dragon Thysal. Particularly the rundown city of Junvale, formerly Junmoth. #FantasyWorldbuilders

Day 11 Ethics
Danny considers himself to be a good person. He hates seeing news of war and division on TV. He wants to help his friends. He tries to be nice and kind.
But he's not above taking some petty revenge, either.

A drawing I did of both Nim and Ori. Nim looks like a cross fox human, while Ori has green and blue wings, green hair, and a long tail but otherwise looks mostly human.
#FantasyWorldBuilders
Nim and Ori are my FMC’s/Veyla’s best friends in Starelic. She meets them at Skyspire Academy (magick school) under stressful circumstances. Nim is on the autism spectrum, & Ori had ADHD & dyslexia, which is how the 2 of them met (in quiet commons).

Day 10 #FantasyWorldbuilders
Born! All magic is birthed technically from the land itself- so the magic comes from the Gods who created the land but when born into the land, the magic is gifted by the land. It's why some people have none and others have tons. And why it was dead in Eurchiro.
Day 9 #FantasyWorldbuilders
Magic is categorized by intent in Cursed. When used with a wicked intent it's dark. When used for the greater good (as defined by Ebnendhs, the creator of all things) it's light. When used in the gray it's neutral.
#FantasyWorldbuilders-
Among this land, seemingly untouched by man's stone and iron, it was easy to see how legends of Robyn's fae ancestry took root
Beneath its leafy veil, it was a separate world, a tapestry woven in spider-web enchantment. A duet of wonder and danger alike...
