A shot of high rise buildings including one in he middle which is false perspective and looks as if it exists in a different dimension to the others. By the way if you read this can you please comment so I know I’m not just wasting my time!
Fav building in Old Street. It gives me vertigo! #london #photography #favouriteplaces

Good morning Sunny ones. After yesterday’s downpour I went for one of my favourite walks. This gorgeous lane makes me feel like I’m in olden times.
Been so wiped out last few days, if you have energy to spare please send some my way.

A scared spring well lies between Glastonbury Tor and Chalice Hill, UK. Glastonbury Tor has a rich and varied history, spanning from the Neolithic period to the present day. It's a significant site for both Pagan and Christian beliefs and is known for its spiritual energy and connections to legends like King Arthur and the Isle of Avalon. Archaeological evidence and historical records reveal a long history of occupation and religious practice on the Tor, including evidence of early Christian churches and monastic settlement. A small monastic settlement, perhaps a Celtic monastery, is thought to have existed on the Tor around the 10th century, with archaeological evidence including the top of a Celtic cross. Glastonbury Tor is associated with the legends of King Arthur and the Isle of Avalon, where he was said to be taken for healing after being wounded.

blood red waters keep divine,
dark spring heals with light.

Hello host Fidel @dragonslayerma.bsky.social for this week's #PromptCombo
I can't remember the last time I contributed to a session. I now have it bookmarked 😁
Here goes for #FavouritePlaces, a green shoot from a blank Sunday page 🌱
#PoetsOnBluesky
I've been watching and reading #PromptCombo for a while, and at last I've found the time to engage. It'll be with you all later today for #FavouritePlaces 💛
Malham Cove Speaks Aged 14, geography Malham trip dry stone wall settles on the ground strengthens itself tightens up, from harsh Millstone grit talk to softer Limestone tongue, our words then underwater diving a new world, breathe easier massive edge dried waterfall walk to Tarn, not Barnsley Tarn, Malham scree, buildings rare, no pubs, no roads, red brick small terraces here, only water. Water word gaps clints/grykes, pavement lacking lamp posts, bins, Zebra crossings. Water work under ground, hidden rivers ghosts of stone talk most in me as memory and history. I take this language back as part of me.
Hi Fidel, thankyou for the great #promptcombo #FavouritePlaces. Still working on my Darrington sonnets. My fifth response one about Malham Cove:
A nice view.

Bittern A Mired-romble, Bog-bull. Thunder-Pumper, rises out of this marsh desolation, lifts quiet wings as I fumble camera, zoom into your disappearance gifts. Then we wait for your next quick appearance, or bombleth in the myre, bull boom, wind throb. cavity of waiting a resonance, hold head in hands, for this flash bird to rob us again a snap its magnificence. Professionals clamp long lenses birdhide inside sills , note points of your emergence, draw lines of your flight, seemingly slow glide into camouflage, as if reeds are clouds. You a rare moon lifts this long day from shrouds
Hi Fidel, thankyou for the great #promptcombo #FavouritePlaces. Still working on my Darrington sonnets. My fourth response is one about RSPB Old Moor:
Llanwrthwl Common, Mid Wales The half-hearted track has almost given up. I am above the empty valley, beyond the retired drystone wall now an unhurried deluge of moss and rock, beyond the bleached skeleton of a tree so weathered, it seems inverted: a jagged fan of root-bone. The sag of hillside draws me, this natural parabolic dish so softly contoured, the mountain could be deflating; a sheepless incline scabbed with blood-gorse partly blotting its coarse blanket of ochre stems. All around, clouds trail their shadows like a child’s coat, but on this slope up close, their touch seems more certain, a rush of fingers across a familiar undulating Braille. Whatever is learnt is shared as hirsute murmurs across the rippling scrub. It’s late but I wait for the scars of dusk to heal, for when the clouds begin their burlesque around the brazen and nearly naked constellations.
Hullo @dragonslayerma.bsky.social and #favouriteplaces for #promptcmbo
Here’s one of a part of Mid Wales I adore…
Thanks for hosting Fidel!
Play Brimham Rocks 1972 small hands hang inside pale blue Ford Anglia window bottom, eye hurried mares' tails flick sky as sharp waist coated, worsted jacketed grandad drives over sandy side road my bare shorted legs dangle over Tartan picnic blanket car seat cover. Let loose, clambered weathered Millstone rock to rock, small hands grabbed, feet lept, themselves in youth, adventure dark hollows, Spiderman up gust sculpted smooth climbs till shouts call down for milky tea whose steam flows from opened blue flask carefully spills into a white plastic cup. Crisps, sarnies, coleslaw, one last clamber, beddie byes.
Hi Fidel, thankyou for the great #promptcombo #FavouritePlaces. Here's my third. It's from my collection "Ever Striding Edge," @darkwinterlitmag.bsky.social, 2024:
Outfall raw grain of reservoired dip slope streams harped between millstones into the one gully River Dove once driving coal mines, glass sharp works and chemical works, quarries, foundries, boat-building, nail-making factories, mills for paper and bobbins and gunpowder, weaving sheds, iron smelter lost in spills of water moving on now quieter by heritage information boards, half pit wheels sunk in earth, all tourist traps, all is never still, life moves beneath earth and water's poisoned industrial past. Woodland skylarked and willow warblered, Daced and Barbeled, swirls and ripples, rivered.
Hi Fidel, thankyou for the great #promptcombo #FavouritePlaces. Here's my second. It's from my unpublished sonnet sequence: "River Dove":
@dragonslayerma.bsky.social This is a superb prelude to this week's #promptcombo. As someone who grew up close to the North Sea, wild seas and coastlines are among #FavouritePlaces that resonate with me on a fundamental level too. There's an etymological link between #sea & #soul. 👏💫
a poem entitled ... a scrimshaw tower where basalt digits claw at time's tide foaming always in retreat a lighthouse barnacled and bleak turned inwards sweeps the land for any glimmer of true light a restless finger (pointing out the faults in culture's landscape weather manicured by strange beliefs or sentimental drift) curled tightly round blame's trigger poised on metamorphic grief for brief eruption a lonely rock, but still i wrest my battered case from interference until a new depression sweeps in from the west and strong storms surge to flood blue sky with stark electric ink -wodz

By Bolton On Dearne decided outside the community. Mining subsidence dropped these fields below the water table into wetlands, free, river expands beyond its banks so wheatear, yellow wagtail, winter whooper swans, and duck join heron, snipe, redshank, lapwing, tufted duck and bittern boomer. River recalls Benedictine boats, monks from Monk Bretton Priory tend their ponds of fish here. Ebenezer's corn law rhymes roil words into writers roll who respond to this river's voices McMillan time. See effect of outside/inside control on the cost of life that takes its high toll.
Hi Fidel, thankyou for the great #promptcombo #FavouritePlaces. Here's my first. It's from my sonnet sequence "River Dearne, or Hidden River" in my collection "Wolf Eye Territory":
