When someone dies, their soul goes to the Realms Beyond. Their first stop is at Aea the Library Everlasting where they leave their memories of mortal life behind.
Then they go to the plane that best fits their life.

Pyntal hates it in #Felcrown since she grew up on the surface rather than in a megadungeon trying to be a city. Unfortunately, her mothers want to return to their childhood home despite Pyntal's complaining.

Actually managed some work on #Felcrown earlier this week:
Motayu blinked the afterimage from his eyes. The massive sphinx was gone and the library was silent and empty again. Empty save for himself and [familiar] who calmly licked her paw and wiped it over her face as if nothing had happened.
I have a perfect one from my rock romance with Katie, Kyle, & gang but it is a big spoiler and I'm trying to focus on my current WIP. But it would be sooo mean to tease it years early. Hee hee! 😈
Ah well, here's something close to blood-curdling from #Felcrown instead.

Funny that when making a Picrew image of Digs, I saw some random braids that looked interesting. Then when writing this, they suddenly became deeply emotional worldbuilding lore. Writing is fun that way!

For #Felcrown, it is Digs, an MC. In fact, I try to have each chapter start with the POV character (always an MC) be at least the first mentioned if not first to speak.
For my rock romance, it happened to be Rachel (side char to MC) speaking to Katie (MC to side char to MC).

I shouldn't oversell it since the Digs/Pyntal romance is just a subplot but I do adore their little moments. I should get a lot of the stabbing villains stuff written this weekend for some action #WIPSnips more indicative of the main plot.

Seemed fitting since it would've been my dad's birthday, but 9 years ago, he went to the store to get eggs and a tired driver killed him.

The inciting incident for #Felcrown arc 2 is their first case - when they're contacted by the parents of the missing teen. I need to avoid too much prologue leading up to it, but that is the moment where Digs & the gang optimistically realize they might actually be able to help someone!

For #Felcrown arc 2, as the gang investigates the missing teen, I am thinking they get the first clear view that this is a Big Thing and discover dozens more have disappeared, and that there is a larger conspiracy of a whole organization and not just a lone villain.
