Tuesday. Mardi Gras. A stormy lunch walk at the 900 year old Holm's Church in Mellerud, Sweden. Before the reformation when Sweden became Lutheran (back in the 1500's), the church was known as St Olofs Church after the 1030's Norwegian Saint.

This year’s best semla came from Krus bakery in Undersåker. Perfect bun - soft, fluffy with and just the right amount of chewiness - and a rather generous amount of mandelmassa filling. Worth the walk in snowy weather to get there!
