Zondag trokken we naar Fondation Cartier, sinds oktober neergestreken in een prachtig Hausmann-gebouw, pal naast het Louvre. Architect Jean Nouvel heeft kosten noch moeite gespaard met beweegbare vloeren, metershoge ramen waar het licht naar binnenvalt en verborgen hoekjes. En dan de collectie. Voor de heropening putte het museum uit tijdelijke tentoonstellingen van de voorbije decennia. Het voelt verfrissend om naast Panamarenko, Damien Hirst, Moebius en Branzi zoveel (voor mij) onbekende kunstenaars te zien, uit Japan, Brazilië, Mexico en daarbuiten. Alles komt aan bod: schilderkunst, fotografie, installaties, keramiek, video … Ik ben benieuwd hoe ze het museum na augustus zullen invullen.
