Two people walking next to eachother, whilst a blurry steam locomotive passes by.
The woman (Belle) stares in confusion at the man (John) who is talking about something. His shirt is somewhat unbuttoned and his jacket over his shoulder
"I don't understand the point of stargazing... You sit in the dark, looking at tiny specs that stay the same, and are gonna be there the next night."
"Not sure I understand it myself, but," John stopped, bent down and picked up a small spec of dirt. "Say this grain of dirt is a world, full of people going to and fro with their lives."
Belle looked between him and the spec with bemusement.
"Now, imagine that when you walk above their spec in the ground, they look to the sky and see you from so far away. They see your beauty and tell their ancestors of it, who will also go on to look to the stars, and see the beauty from where they can."
Belle frowned, "That sounds very fruitless."
"Oh, I don't know, I can see the beauty." John smiled and looked up at her. His eyes then widened, and his cheeks went red. "Wait- no I didn't-"
John seemed to shrink to the size of the spec, But Belle simply chuckled and flicked it out of his hand, before she beckoned him to carry on walking.
After saving Belle's son from drowning in the river, John bumped into her again in town. She returned his, now dry, jacket to him and the two decided to walk and talk properly since first meeting in early 1946.
