Stunning image of spiral galaxy NGC 1097, located 45 million light-years away in the Fornax constellation. The vibrant blue spiral arms, dotted with pink star-forming regions, wrap around a smaller companion galaxy. Faint jets extend beyond the arms, possibly fossil star streams from a past galactic interaction. The galaxy's core houses a supermassive black hole.
