Pres. #WilliamMcKinley appointed #FrazierBaker the #PostmasterGeneral of #LakeCity, #SouthCarolina, in 1897. Only 'problem' was, he was Black. On #ThisDayInHistory in 1898 a #LynchMob set his house on fire and tried to murder his family. Baker & his daughter Julia were shot dead.

Facts: "Postal inspectors determined the accusations were unfounded, but that didn’t halt those determined to destroy" #FrazierBaker. “Baker & his baby daughter, Julia, were killed” when hundreds of whites set fire to the post office, where the Bakers lived."
