The first 2 stanzas of a poem titled Devil Woman. It reads:

when you’re born a star
you could never be a groupie
reminded me he’s a famous baller
i replied yeah, what’s it to me?
i let them brag, boast & peacock
until they realize it's all for naught
if they follow up with disrespect
i don't flinch or fret
like Billie Jean King
i mop the floor with them in straight sets

because these men wannabe alpha
that mentality is so weak
claiming they’re wolves
when they’re wobbly baby sheep
following Tate like he’s Lil’ Bo Peep
shoving his podcasts up their ass
slobbering all over his high-mileage meat
nonsensical sexist rhetoric
regurgitated by basement dwelling dweebs
harassing women in comments, DMs,
out on the streets
such a pathetic, blatant display of insecurity

The conclusion of Devil Woman that reads:

go play that machismo shit with Eve
i’m dark moon goddess Lilith
go ahead and demonize me
crybaby patriarchal bitch
i’m a proud outcast among shadows
i’d rather be banished than submit
spite me, fight me
they can all open up wide & bite me
i’m an arrogant woman
who does whatever the fuck she wants
that’s precisely why

the Church
conservative women
& weak men
don’t like me

My poetry is often personal to me, whereas my prose tends to be on the fantastical side. This one is FREE so I'd be absolutely chuffed if my fellow writers and poets gave it a read and a comment.

Poem continues "You are as you are meant to be. Every wave upon the shore, a meeting of the coming of Selves. Each grain of sand a welcoming; soulful and sweet."

There is a square photo of a beach in the centre of the page, framed by two paper cut out whales on either side of the photo.

Poem continues "And as the ground recognises you, with every step, a canopy of clouds wheel like thoughts and dreams, and all the world sings the mirth of simple truths and deepest knowings."

The text is placed upon textured paper of flowers on the bottom, with an array of drawn mushrooms on top, and above a watercolour abstract image of pinks and blues, similar to stained water.

inspiration hits
like high tide—
threatening to overwhelm
while the Expanse tickles our toes

treasures flow ashore
along with trash,
strewn for the curious to inspect

the wise only wade in
as waters recede
and the risk of drowning passes

A hand written poem over a film photo of a woman standing by a puddle on a black sand beach. The ocean is in the background, as well as a mountain range on the left. It is sunset, the woman is a silhouette. The poem reads:

"I do not wish to be a product of my time. I see the hate around me, and I feel it within. I speak to myself with the words that the world used against me. Every thought, an incantation against my so. So let me call it magick when I can finally love myself."

A poem in black text on a white background. It's titled "Scaling the Walls you Build" and it reads:

You seem to feel tall when you're yelling.
Arching above me like an overpass.
An indifferent shadow of procedure.
A concrete vulture with hidden ears.
Only carrying out the compulsory.

I regret acting tall when I was screaming.
A nose and tail pulled tight in a single line,
a head bursting from its chest like a dandelion seed,
trailing colours, a tiny leaf spinning out
on an icy stream beneath the underbrush.
Lunging towards compassion.

In the bottom right it's signed G.E. and dated April 2025.

lightning zigzags from sky to earth
knowing by rain-sense or smell
it’s just the beginning

Part one of a poem written on a photo. The image is of a cloud in the sky, coloured orange by the sunset and contrasting against the blue sky. The near-full moon is visible.

The poem reads:

The world is knocking
At my door, and in my mind
I turn inward
And feel into my body
I ask what she needs
And I try to water the garden
But it doesn't matter
How well I tend to the flowers
When the sun beats down mercilessly
When the world still turns towards oblivion
How can I calm each individual wave
When the moon is so beyond my reach

Part two of a poem on a photo. The image is of a light blue cloudy sky with two small cockatoos flying in the distance. The text reads:

The world is knocking
I turn to my books, my workshops, my classes
That teach me how to sit in the storm
But not how to shelter from it
I see my fellow humans
Swept away by the ravaging winds
The torrential rain
And I wonder if there is more I can do
Than simply train my brain to accept
The water like tears beating upon my face

The world is knocking
And I'm afraid to answer
Because what if on the other side
Lies something far worse than what sits within me now
If I close the blinds and lock the door
Maybe the screams will drown away
For they are no longer deafened by my own
And if I meditate and pray and learn
What it means to be a better human
Maybe I won't have to see who has come knocking
Because through my own detatchment to my self
I no longer care for doors or visitors or unending storms

The world is knocking
Am I brave enough to answer?

A blurry black and white film photo with a small Yellow Crested Black Cockatoo flying from the right side of the image to left. Text is overlayed onto the image, a freeform poem that reads:

"I breathe in. "Do you love me? Do you love me? Do you love me?" I hold the air in my lungs, as if I would never breathe again. And you ask "What kind of question is that?", and I cannot answer. The only thing I know, is that I need air."

A black and white photo of a tree with no leaves in the centre, and a small black cockatoo perched on a branch in the distance. A poem on the image reads:
"In a few years you won't exist, and I won't know how you died. How bittersweet it is that we crossed paths, in this lifetime, in this moment, and I almost didn't notice. How many times does life itself reach for my heart while I was looking the other way?"

Part one of a letter pressed poem on card that reads:
"Tread lightly, tread carefully, I've seen these footsteps before, been led down this path. Although the streets are different, the air is familiar. I have choked on its subtle signs. My body's sirens, a fish in a net. Soon I will be caught, gasping on air I cannot breathe."

"You pull my hand but I will not follow. I dare not go where I was led before, where the nets hide in the dark and the fish go to die. I once feared the man's hunger, and I fed to him my flesh. But when I taught the man to fish, his next lure was for me."

A poem printed onto paper that reads:

The time will pass
And go so slow
Yet travel fast
Through worlds unknown
I'll fear the past
And hold you close
Though we may part
I'll love you so
With arms enclasped
So that you'll know
My love, like a flower, grow
