Air Quality Monitor showing CO2 reading of 446ppm and an image of a white Air Filter beside it.

Have you ever wondered how clean the air is in a GP clinic? This comes in from a GP clinic where air quality is taken very seriously. It is great to see such excellent air quality in a space where people go when they're most vulnerable due to illness, infection or injury.

Good air quality makes everyone's journey safer. It is also great to see compliance with the HSA Code of Practice for Indoor Air Quality as implemented by Statutory Instrument creating a safe and healthy workplace environment for all airport and airline staff.

This exemplary CO2 monitor reading comes in from someone travelling through Dublin Airport who found that the ventilation was quite excellent in the lounge past the US pre-clearance hall.

This is really positive to see.

Adults without children in their lives are completely oblivious to the problem of poor air quality in schools. How it impacts children's learning, their health, and household health.

This needs to change.

If you've ever wondered how cooking impacts the air quality in your kitchen, these two submissions for #FridayAirday both show how cooking dinner raises PM2.5 levels.

The first image shows a significant rise in PM2.5 up to 262 µg/m³ and was taken in a kitchen using a gas hob.

Many people hate going to the dentist, but indoor air quality may not be the most common reason.

Unfortunately, not all dental practices are created equal. This Aranet CO2 sensor reading comes into us this #FridayAirday from someone who attended a dentist appointment.

CO2 levels consistently higher than 1400ppm in an occupied room indicates poor ventilation. Action should be taken well before this upper threshold is reached.

Has your workplace carried out a risk assessment yet?

Have you ever wondered why it's pretty typical to get sick after a night out at a packed gig?

This #FridayAirday submission comes in from someone who attended a gig in a popular Dublin City Centre entertainment venue a few weeks ago.

This is a #FridayAirday CO2 reading from a busy bookshop. The high reading of 2815ppm is indicative of very poor ventilation. This is representative of many retail settings and a good reminder that wearing a well fitting respirator in shops is a good idea to avoid catching/spreading infections.

We've been receiving photos of air quality measurements from members of the public for #FridayAirday .

This image is from someone who was frying a steak on a gas hob. Frying is the method of cooking most likely to produce particulate matter.

The sooner the Irish State addresses our lack of ventilation infrastructure in our public transport and schools, the better for everyone, especially children. The cycle of year-round respiratory infections could end if we improved ventilation in communal spaces.

CO2 increases rapidly in bedrooms overnight, where windows cannot be kept open. It is good practise to open the window first thing every morning to air out the space.

Thanks to this submission from an individual who monitored their child's bedroom last week, we have some insight.

After blasting the heat in my car to demist the windscreen while travelling through hail storms and wind, navigating around trucks blown over on the side of the road; I was pleasantly surprised to see how good the air quality was at my dentist appointment this morning! #FridayAirday #CleanTheAir

The CO2 ppm is high for being in a playground beside a river. The playground is beside a road that enters a village. Between HGVs and homes burning solid fuels to stay warm, the CO2 is higher than the ~420ppm you would expect as a baseline level. This would be a great indoor reading. #FridayAirday

This is a screenshot for #FridayAirday from my @airspothealth.bsky.social reading so far. The window has been open through the night & all morning. Co2 levels started rising once neighbours started burning solid fuel. The air quality in the West of Ireland massively deteriorates in cold temps.
