This week I have a #FridayFling from To Love the Dragon King in which Felix is pushing Lysander toward some revelations.

#FridayFling 'devote' from HEALER OF THE NILE...can the village healer defeat the plotting of the stepmother and the half brother? #Romantasy in ancient Egypt Available wide. #booksky www.amazon.com/Healer-Nile.....
Have some post-coital canoodling. #FridayFling
a blue background with the text, “Your youngest brother is an aberration. He’s been warped by that mate of his. And she’s only half human.” “It’s not only Dustan. Larch’s friend Rowan loves a human and she’s devoted to—” Oleander stopped, pulling Snowdrop against her. Dread flowed into Snowdrop’s chest. What had she done?
Only one "devote" in my new release for this week's #fridayfling
at first I thought "aw, I have the #FridayFling word, but it's in kind of a spoilery sentence," but then I realized that this sci-fi spy romance lends itself perfectly to redacting information, lol
so here's the middle section of a list of character attributes, just as it goes off the rails:
They've lost their leader and now their priest, and struggle to adjust.

We made it to the master suite, and Valentin set me on my feet. With proof of his care and devotion surrounding me, I strategized the fastest way to get him out of his clothes. He beat me to it, though, peeling himself out of his sweater with such slow deliberation that it had to have been intentional. I watched, mesmerized, as lean muscles encased in golden skin were revealed a centimeter at a time. Once the sweater hit the floor, I pressed my hands to the hard ridges of his abdomen, and his breath caught.
Today’s #FridayFling snippet is from THE QUEEN’S TRIUMPH!
Sometimes a Rogue Queen just needs to enjoy a moment of downtime with her favorite emperor. 😏
This week’s prompt is “devote.”

A square yellow-to-pink gradiated graphic with the Friday Fling hashtag at the top and my Frostburn by Suleikh Snyder byline at the bottom. In between is the following excerpt text: Looking into Eoin’s eyes now, she sees the devotion that discomfits her, but she also recognizes a familiar hunger. A gnawing need that mirrors her own and that he’s struggling to tamp down. He’s been starved for it. For this. He clenches his fists and draws a shuddering breath. The air heats around them, heavy with his desire—and then it abruptly cools. Because Sikandar is ravenous too. “Dhayana.” Not “my queen” this time. Not “Highness.” It’s a low-voiced warning and a seduction, his clever tongue stroking each syllable of her given name. He is the elder amongst them, the one who’s been at Mihir’s side the longest and the one most well-versed in court politics. If they go any further tonight, everything changes. She will be a woman in his bed as well as his queen on her throne. They’ll know the taste of each other.
It's so satisfying when I can look at a #FridayFling prompt and know exactly which story will fulfill it. This week, it's my MMF romantasy, FROSTBURN, and "devote." Are you really a bodyguard in a romance if you aren't a little enthralled? 😂

Did Canva remove the ability to change the color of inserted elements? Because it was there last week and now it’s gone.
Maybe this will be the thing that forces me to actually move my #FridayFling posts into Affinity, even though it’s more of a pain.

#FridayFling 'score' from STAR CRUISE LUCKY CHARM, available wide. #booksky #scifiromance Here's the Amazon link: www.amazon.com/CRUISE-LUCKY...
I’d joined the military straight out of school because my family couldn’t afford the fee to avoid mandatory service, and I’d fudged my aptitude scores so none of the conglomerates would be interested enough to offer an indentureship. Unfortunately, my dismal aptitude scores meant I was put in a front-line unit rather than a tech unit. I wasn’t wired to be a good soldier—or even a mediocre soldier—but the FHP had tried their best to grind me into submission. They might have succeeded had Tavi not accepted my transfer into her squad. I owed her everything, and the least I could do in return was find the Lady-damned information she needed.
Today’s #FridayFling snippet is from ECLIPSE THE MOON!

A salmon-y pink square-shaped promo graphic with the Friday Fling hashtag and prompt at the top and my Spoiled Brit by Kali Decker byline at the bottom. In between is the following excerpt text: Ruby rolls to her back again, wondering if she should panic. Or scream. Or panic and scream. Those options seem a little overwrought, even for the ultimate cliché of a Vegas elopement with a stranger. She actually played the best friend in a Lifetime holiday movie with this exact plot. Snowflaking Up in Vegas. She’s never thought she’d ever score the central role in real life. “Are you going to say anything, or shall we just continue to rest here in mutually terrified silence?” The clipped, annoyingly posh accent that’s dropped millions of panties worldwide—including hers, apparently—slices into her thoughts like a very expensive knife. Oh, of course he’s awake, too. Staring at her with those big, gray, angsty Austen hero eyes. He’s played at least two of them. Hell, Baz Templeton has probably played her entire high-school English lit syllabus with a few extra credit books besides. And now he’s playing her husband.
Here's a little #FridayFling fulfilling the prompt for "score." It's from SPOILED BRIT, my naughty novella about an A-list actor and a struggling TV actress trapped in a cliché of their own making.

#FridayFling "score" - this is from Last Man Standing, coming June 22 #romance #booksky
Friday Fling from Made For Her by Jessica E. Subject. The keyword is score. His fingers fumbled with the buttons of her shirt. He was almost naked, but she still wore all of her clothes. He had to change that, needed to even the score. She stroked him hard, causing his fingers to stop working. Giving up on being graceful, he ripped her shirt open to expose her creamy skin, her soft, ripe swells covered by way too much lace. Something else that had to go. “Oh, you’re going to have to pay for wrecking my shirt.” Her voice came out deep and seductive. “I believe we’re even.” “Not even close.” She pulled away, placed a pillow on the floor, and knelt in front of him. “I hope you’re as virile as you look.” The cover for Made For Her by Jessica E. Subject shows a woman on the left with her dark hair pulled back, dark eye makeup, and wearing a leather jacket and a smirk on her pink lips. On the right side is a bare-chested man with short hair and facing to the left and down. The background image shows circuits.
My #FridayFling is from MADE FOR HER, a spicy futuristic military sci-fi romance with clones and big secrets. The prompt is score.

I laughed. “Fifteen minutes of conversation with the guy told you that?” “More like twenty minutes. In that time he offered me his seat, bought me a drink—top shelf, mind you—and even though most of the conversation was between him and me, he couldn’t keep his eyes off you. Any idiot could see I was the easier score, but Trent wasn’t interested in just scoring.” “I’m not used to that kind of attention, Cyn. The way he looked at me, all dark and… and intense.” My skin flamed and my stomach dropped just thinking about the way his forest green eyes penetrated mine. Cynthia chuckled. “Like he wanted to spread you on the bar and make a banquet out of you? Get used to it.” Separation Game

also I've moved from overusing em-dashes to overusing semicolons and at some point an editor WILL intervene, but that day is not today

"James’s current urge was indeed to acquaint himself with Kitty, who stood before him, a delicate pink blush heightening her color.
Darcy gave him a quizzical look, which James ignored. He could no more explain his fascination with Miss Bennet to Darcy than he could to himself." 1/2
A square lavender graphic with the Friday Fling hashtag and prompt at the top and my Kali Decker byline at the bottom. The following excerpt text is in between: “What’s your favorite scary movie?” Seth asks, pitching his voice like Ghostface in Scream. He’s probably trying to kick off a whole Scream riff, but Nina can’t help but take the question seriously. “Aliens, remember?” she answers without hesitation. They’ve covered this before, but she never gets tired of gushing about it. “Brilliant visuals. A kickass protagonist fighting for her found family. Romance. And a very effective retelling of Beowulf.” “Beowulf? Really?” Seth puts his tablet aside, invested in her answer. They haven’t touched on this part of her fascination before. “Mhmm.” She adjusts her reading glasses like a professor and adopts a teaching tone. “The first film is essentially Beowulf versus Grendel. And then, in Aliens, the xenomorph queen can stand in for Grendel’s mother.” It’s a valuable metaphor in academic circles, and an utterly useless factoid in everyday life. But Seth looks delighted, leaning back against the headboard and nodding emphatically.
Took a while to find an excerpt for "fascinate." This #FridayFling is from STARF**KER, my very unrealistic and very erotic novella about a screenwriter and a journeyman actor exploring their kinks. In between all the boning, they do discuss movies!

He ran his thumb along her broken lip, gold sparking in its trail. “I’m sorry I wasn’t faster.” Tal stilled under his touch, and he was too aware of how his body aligned with hers.
It changed nothing for him, he decided. He was still fascinated by her mouth.

His gaze flickered over me and seemed to snag on my breeches. I had nice legs—strong and muscled—and he seemed fascinated by the taut gold cloth covering them. I was so, so tempted to turn around and pretend to pick something up off the floor because I knew that these particular breeches did incredible things for my ass, but I restrained myself with a silent admonishment to behave.
