The armies of France and the Holy Roman Empire fought the Battle of #Pavia. The French army was decisively defeated by an army including the Italian #condottiero Fernando d'Avalos, and the German military commander -and the ‘father of the #Landsknechte’- Georg von #Frundsberg.
