While touring this building site I was taken by the beauty and functionality of this interior space. The site is a middle school that was being newly constructed. The space is an interior staircase for students and staff to move between floors. Wide stairs prevent crowding and enhance the flow. The ceiling is high and brightly painted so that it enhances the feeling of this being an open space. The color also codes for the section of the school that you are in. And finally, the space is lighted by strategically placed windows that leave the walls free for posting information and displays.
