Picture from the medical book "Shell-Shock: Nature and Causes" explaining a case study about the emotion of a captain who saw his men burned by a bomb and falling into a stupor, as if he were dead and then awakening as if he were a German prisoner. Themes of responsibility, nightmares, isolation, trauma, and war are in this account.

Reading these accounts of shell-shock, #PTSD from both #WWI and #GWOT period for my term paper and this one in particular from an account of an army captain hits pretty hard.

With the #GWOT in Iraq we had a ridiculous amount of allies shoulder to shoulder for over 20 years. This time we are on our own with no friends to help and I wouldn’t expect anything from them at all. Hope all those #Texas NG troops in MN are ready to be redeployed to #Iran. Draft time??
