Note from my daughter. The text reads
January 15, 2025
Dear my parents,
Thank you for doing so much for me. From trips, clothes, and even to pets, you do it all! I knew it was a stretch to ask for a dog right after Astor and Ivan died, but you knew how much I wanted it. You listened by giving me Bentley; thank you. On the topic of listening, I appreciate you for always listening to my feelings and my wants, even if they're absurd. I ask for a bunch of things very often and, although you might think it's crazy to get all of it, you listen anyways and make sure I feel heard. On trips you plan the trips solely based on making sure Winston and I have something to occupy us and make the trip feel like home. For example, when we went to Dallas for my 13th birthday, you booked Golden Goose, let me go to Roller Rabbit, LoveShackFancy, Hermés, rented me a house, rented a Porsche, and bought me a LoveShackFancy themed cake! All those things made me extremely grateful to be your kid, and I wouldn't want it any different. Thank you for raising me perfectly, making sure I feel appreciated, and best of all being people I can lean on and talk to when I don't feel my best. Thank you, thank you, thank you a million times. I love you!
Sincerely,
Estelle
Sometimes you worry you're parenting so badly you pray the tell-all book doesn't come out while your alive, then, other days, you get a note like this. #Dads #parenting #GaybyBoomer
