Team #Geomarine helping to get our survey kit dowm (as well as us). We can each manage a rucksack but the total station is bit of a challenge. #LaCotte
First morning for #LaCotte '23. @ArchSouthEast Survey team about to deploy alongside #Geomarine engineers. Loving our new, vented, Petzl helmets. #IceAgeIsland.
Now we can edit the model and design the excavation season by season. We can quantify the volume we need to remove each year to achieve a stable profile and discover more about the last Neanderthals in the region. #Geomarine @loveheritage @GoldenSoftware1 2/2
Today’s order of business is tidying up, breakfast with our #Geomarine colleagues, getting our ewuipment back to stores, finds washing and checking the site archive.
First down today at #LaCotte is Andy Shaw @wessexarch alongside Kamil Swiech #Geomarine.
I liked the new descender but my legs are getting tired into the second week!
Grey skies and Ed is about to descend with his survey kit helped by Jamie #Geomarine #LaCotte
Thanks to everyone who came for the low tide tour of #LaCotte Fab to show you the site and to be joined by so many friends and colleagues on the trip. #Geomarine
Here’s Kamil Swiech #Geomarine checking over the harness of Dr Andy Shaw from @wessexarch We’re now quite attached to our own harnesses. A couple of us have switched to different descender types as they suit us better. #LaCotte
We just had an incredible day at #LaCotte. Lots of media interviews and some more confident descents with the experts from #Geomarine. The conversation in the pub is suddenly all about rope kit how best to climb the route. Oh we started the archaeology too.
On site at #LaCotte for first briefing from the rope access specialists #Geomarine. It’s higher than I remembered.
