It was just last week that I said to myself "Self, it's time for something new". One of those days when the world seems played out. Oh, I'm excited about my day job all over again -- summer concert season always does that -- but after ten years of obsession with model photography I would have told you that I was probably done with it. There's nobody NEW, the excitement is "meh". Oh, I have made great friends and I can see myself continuing to work with them forever just to document their worlds but....yeah...maybe it's time to move along. And then here came Izzy. She blew into town with a burst of energy that shook the cobwebs out. Smart, gorgeous, getting back to some Oregon roots...my hot day go-to gave us great playtime and the twisting series of waterfalls was revitalized by her presence. I can't say enough good things about her (she's on IG @iz.z.diaz) and really look forward to seeing where modeling takes her. Fantastic posing, great athletic strength and an enthusiasm for getting weird? Yes, ma'am. Yessss.

I don't know how other people do it but I think you have to have an enthusiasm for the people you work with. In the day job, I have hired a lot of friends over the years (whether old or now) and it's worked out pretty well. Having the ability to choose my co-workers is probably more of a blessing than I even imagine...it's been awhile since I worked a real job and I always seem to have found ones that boasted a cast of characters. I've always been unabashed about my favorite models and @iz.z.diaz immediately joined their ranks. It's going to take me a bit to get back to this batch of amazing images and I'm sure it's going to reveal my limitations all over again but what a fun day. And isn't that what everything is about?
