2 standout partial rewatches: I started REWATCH Nr 5 of #OkitegamiKyouko, halfway atm. STILL love it! Then rewatched eps 1-4 of #GiboToMusumeNoBlues where I'd dropped it yrs ago. Now, watched it all andLOVE it😍

SPs are standard practice in #jDrama of course, though most only have 1. Those that do have more often have multi-year gaps between them, like #GiboToMusumeNoBlues which had 3 over 6 years and #AlibiKuzushiUketamawarimasu which had 2 over 5

The other fun thing about starting #jDrama #AnIncurableCaseOfLove is that the FL is played by an actor I like, Kamishiraishi Mone, and I spent all day yesterday watching #GiboToMusumeNoBlues and its three SPs The eponymous Musume was played by Mone's younger sister Moka 😍

The one persistent irritant for me in all the #GiboToMusumeNoBlues shows was Satoh Takeru's character. A REALLY stupid clown of a role, the part jarred intensely. BUT he owned the role and disappeared into it, so it's great watching him in #jDrama #AnIncurableCaseOfLove as a surprisingly nice ML MD😊

Because Japan's acting pool is smaller, you can get fun things like this: In the 2024 SP of #GiboToMusumeNoBlues Ayase Haruka's character is told by her daughter "Don't you even think of dying alone" Straight after watching that, I went back to #jDrama #IwantToDieAlone - w/ Ayase Haruka as lead😆

Finished the #jDrama #GiboToMusumeNoBlues series today. The last SP gets 8/10 for a REALLY well executed & utterly SAVAGE feint that had me ugly crying A LOT. I thought it MIGHT have been a feint but it was so well setup I couldn't see how. For pulling it off w/ a very 😍 end どうも ありがとう ございました

9.75/190 for #jDrama #GiboToMusumeNoBlues - probably the BEST found family Drama I've watched. Lots of laughs, lots of tears, it would've got 10 if its OTT hardcore opening 20 minutes hadn't put me off it 5 years ago. BAKA! 🤦‍♂️

After ep 6 my wife then went to bed, and I decided to start another #jDrama on my list, #HitoriDeShinitai starring, as it turned out, Ayase Haruka. Watching the same actor back-to-back in very different roles is a good test of their skill

Into ep4 of #jDrama #GiboToMusumeNoBlues & absolutely flummoxed. I tried it back in 2019 & it was an insta-drop, not even sure I made it through ep1. Now IDKY. That initial setup ep is a bit mangaesque-OTT , but the story and character progression is very promising. One more drop watched I think.
