First thing we do when get in the car is “lock the doors.”

I’m used to their opinion of me and the lil time that I interact with their kids makes it all irrelevant.

I knew I saw a lil #Damien when #Girlmoon “accidentally” ran over a slug with her stroller awhile back!
Decided if the cat followed me home, I’d take her in and make her comfortable but two blocks from my house, she went into a neighbor’s shed and stayed.

I came across a pregnant cat in labor searching for a place to give birth. (that’s what it looked to me!)
#Sis and #Girlmoon wanted to “leave her alone” but she kept following me block after block.
I don’t like that #Girlmoon took after her mom and is not an obsessed animal lover like me 😩
So, #Girlmoon finds a purple spray bottle and is immediately taken by it.
Her: This is my favorite color. I want it.
Me: No, you can't have it cuz I need it.
Her: I'm going to take it to my room.
Me: Just make sure you bring it back.
Her: (walking away) No. It is mine now.

minus the ending when I lost #Girlmoon #Juneteenth this year was beyond awesome.
It was the FIRST TIME where everywhere I turned, there was another #Black person.

I get triggered when my bro tries to discipline my #Girlmoon. He is as detached from her life (though she lives under the same roof) as her deadbeat father.
His "commanding" voice frightens her into obeying, and I hate it. #Sis wants to avoid confrontation but Idk how long I can hold my tongue.
While walking with #ChasingNala, #Girlmoon called my attention to a little slug on the sidewalk.
Me: We shld be careful never to hurt if we can...
Before I can even finish that sentence, she rolls her stroller over it with such glee...
Her: It was an "accident!"

The competition #Girlmoon has with #ChasingNala to get my attention or sit next to me is NEXT level.
lil #Girlmoon came home yesterday with a scratch on her face... lil girl scratched her on purpose.
Me: What did you do?
Girlmoon: I told her to stop and then told the teacher.
Me: hmmmm...[waits for mom to leave room] The next time someone hurts you, hurt them back and say, "DO NOT TOUCH ME."
My niece #Girlmoon is obsessed with #Bailey #LilMerimaid.
She has forced me to watch it countless times and while observing her watch the movie, I realized a new generation is being introduced to the story without the baggage of the original nostalgia and is a future classic for them.
How do #mothers do this on the regular?
#Sis was sick, so took care of #Girlmoon: teeth brushing, making breakfast, dressing her, driving to preschool...picking her up, making dinner, and a later snack, to a bath, to getting ready for bed, to reading her a story and finally sleep.
Long, long day.
My dog #ChasingNala is getting older and my niece #Girlmoon is at a critical age of personal development.
The chance to have spent ALL my time with them is/was priceless. Like a retired person, I had no other obligations for over a year.
And such blessings cannot go unspoken.
In the midst of this horrible administration's return to office and its dismantling of essential resources, individual rights and fascist police kidnappings...
It feels selfish to say on a personal note how blessed I have been; above all grateful for the time with #Girlmoon and #ChasingNala.
My niece #GirlMoon loves the new #LilMerimaid movie and I’m trying very hard to keep an open mind and to see it thru her eyes as “new”.
I think that’s how it should be viewed and not as a remake cuz it DOES NOT do the original justice as is.
But I wasn't done with the bitch. I went out and walked to her house just a few houses down and took this pic of her ugly car, her and the house.
Told her "Bitch I know where you live."
AND THEN I GET CHEWED OUT BY #SIS cuz I put her #Girlmoon in danger and showed the woman where we live.
Finally, we turn a corner back to the house and she pauses and finally I walk to her car and is like, "why the fuck are you following us?" she don't say nothing.
I take #ChasingNala and #Girlmoon in the house and come back out and walk to her car, btw she had a medium size dog barking up a storm.
Called the police yesterday to report a lady in the neighborhood who was following me and my #Girlmoon and #ChasingNala in her car talking about, "Go back to your country."
Why? Cuz #ChasingNala wasn't on a leash, and she peed on her lawn.
I didn't have my phone, and she did and was taping.
😂 #Sis asked bro to put toilet seat down cuz of #Girlmoon and middle of the night bathroom trips…he goes
“Yeah, but have you asked Nalem [ME!] to do the same?”
…running joke about how I act more like a man than a woman in the house!
I’M THE MAN OF THE HOUSE!
I’m not blaming #Girlmoon for me staying up and studying till 4:00 in the morning…
But I did have her all day.
Both parents were teachers.
I have no idea how they did it cuz I don't have the patience for teaching!
#Girlmoon is testing me.
I'm failing miserably.
So, 2025 word of mission for #Sis is REST.
She has fought, repaired and created a new path for herself and #Girlmoon.
She earned this rest.
Her #God told her so.
Every year #Sis has a word of mission.
It was VILLAIN in 2024:
She wanted to put herself and daughter #Girlmoon first, wanted to set boundaries and expectations.
She knew it meant ruffling a lot of feathers and looking like the bad guy…
And boy did she ruffle.
Her #faith in God grew.
