The camera closes in, turning to face Irein. She's still grabbing her head with both hands. Irein: I c-can't believe you're ma-making me hear th-this with m-m-my own t-two ears! Amaryllis thinks going after Erenville's quarry will give his future parents the chance to reconcile.

Yasu stares up at the clock, an expression full of heartache on her face.

She then recalls a memory of her childhood in Kugane, childishly arguing with Kaede about a clock her mother had mounted on the wall.

It's just a silly old clock for kids. It's also her mother's clock.

A boy is watching from a distance as a small crowd of researchers, forum members and scholars converse with his mother Cordelia and sister Eeva near Old Sharlayan’s Aetheryte Plaza, a fiery carbuncle in their midst. Monologue: [ Ever have I envied you.] Author’s note: Basildere is an NPC that can be found at Old Sharlayan’s Aetheryte Plaza. I made a younger version of him for the purpose of this comic. This comic also displays a younger version of Cordelia from when her children were little.

The camera zooms into the distant scene from before, where the conversations can now be heard. Leontine: “My, what a unique glow. And you summoned it all by yourself?” (the carbuncle) Cordelia: “Indeed. It was forged out of an Allagan Ruby my late brothers brought back from one of their excursions, gods rest their souls. Isn’t that so, Eeva?” Eeva: “Yes, Mother.”

The focus shifts to the carbuncle, a unique fiery aura surrounding it. Eeva: “I revised the formula’s aspect ratio to strengthen its aetherial potency.” Leontine: “So young and so gifted, truly remarkable.”

Monologue: [Your presence burned like the scorching sun, drawing me ever closer.] Basildere: “A little prodigy, then? Just like her mother. Your parents must be so proud of you.” Cordelia places a hand on her daughter’s shoulder, smiling with pride. Cordelia: “We are, indeed.”

The Viera kneels over the dropped note, the man gone, but another man in the distance guarding a door - slightly out of focus. She thinks to herself. Text box reads as follows: Kelevra: "He dropped his note. Should I return it to him? Or finish my delivery to the..what the hells were they called again? The possums? No, that can't be it.."

Fate intervenes to present Kel with two unique opportunities. Which way is the 'right' way? Which path will she walk?

The man strides away, leaving Kelevra with her thoughts and a wave. Text boxes read as follows: Stranger: "That said, I do have prior engagements to get back to. Good luck, adventurer. May the Twelve guide you!" Kelevra: "Some days I wonder where that adventurer ended up.."

A very, very familiar face leaves Kelevra with a different perspective, and some advice she had not expected from someone so young.

The Viera sits up in bed, dressed. There are scars across her cheek, and her left eye is missing an iris. She narrates "It took weeks before I was able to take off the bandages. Months before I felt safe leaving the bed. They had fitted me with a glass eye, to help me feel normal again. But the scars stayed. A reminder I was not normal. A reminder of my failure. Of my weakness." A doctor in a white robe speaks to her. Text box reads as follows: Chirurgeon: "Do your best to be careful. While glass will help maintain appearances..it cannot undo the damage that was done. It will take some time for your body to adjust to the changes. Before you go, the man that brought in left something for you, on the cabinet there..."

Kelevra reaches out with her left hand, her right reaching up to cover her face as tears fall freely. She is reaching out for the jewelry that was stolen from her, resting on top of Thancred's eyewrap. Text box reads as follows: Kelevra: "But some things can make the burden a little lighter."

They say that time heals all wounds, but some can close on their own. Others need more than time, but the kindness of people can help to heal even the deepest wounds.

A Viera awakens in a bed, her chest, hands, and eyes bandaged. She yells as she wakes up. Text box reads as follows: Kelevra: "Ha....HAAAAH! Where am I?1 Why can't I see?! WHY CAN'T I OPEN MY EYES?!?!"

The long night comes to a slow, agonizing close. As the sun rises, Kelevra finds herself seeking the comfort of something familiar in a time of need.

The photo is of Yemoja on graduation day; her mother Oya by her side. Yemoja's hair is far shorter and straighter than it is in the present, and her mother looks nearly identical to her (the biggest differences being her black hair and fur). "YEMOJA!?" Demetrius shouts loudly. Ajaka is confused as to how this man knows his daughter's name, squinting so hard it could kill a weaker target. Demetrius clarifies; Yemoja is one of his best friends from school!

Demetrius prattles on about how much Yemoja talked about Ajaka and how much she loves her family. He loses himself in his words, surprised at himself for not realizing the familial connection. Ajaka stares in surprise... until tears well up in his eyes. A soft smile grows on his face. Demetrius is concerned that he might have crossed a line, but Ajaka reassures him that he's simply overjoyed.

Demi's glad that Ajaka is happy, then states he'd be happier hearing all of this from his own daughter. He resolves himself to win this fight against the Garlean forces, so the Ori family can be reunited. Ajaka does the same. The two then continue their break discussing Yemoja and the memories Demetrius has of their friendship in school.

Adult Lkhgavasuren however, raise her head and groggily opens her eyes, as if having just awoken from falling asleep on her feet.

Uncertainly they looks around, the younger Lkhgavasuren with nervous faer, and the older Lkhagvasuren with guarded wariness.

In front of them are three pedestals, bearing a shield, sword, and staff respectively.

In the weeds with Kingdom Hearts ideas, this sprang to mind when a talk with some friends led to the interesting realization that Lkhgavasuren as a child and an adult, would make totally opposite choices for what powers to take and give at the Station of Awakening.

The camera pans out once again, revealing that Sophiane has been sitting with the couple all along, seated to Irein's right. She rubs her chin and nurses a cocktail in her other hand. Irein flips Sophiane off while Erenville slumps onto the bar face first. Sophiane: I've never been so glad to be a lesbian. Irein: W-Wow. Thanks. Erenville: I'm so sleep deprived, I swear I saw /four/ of them at one point. Sophiane: Have you considered sleeping anyway? Irein: No, n-not once has the th-thought /ever/ occurred t-t-to me.

Random purple haired Stranger approached (older) Saran respectfully and bashfully on the beach. They are both in swim attire. Bashful Stranger: "Sorry for bothering you, but I just had to say—you are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen!" Saran: "Oh, my how flattering, though I regret to inform thee—"

Saran smiles at them: "—I am not a woman."

The stranger is flustered and pivots: "Oh! Erm, sorry, I didn't mean any offense You're a very beautiful man!" Saran, still smiling corrects them again: "Oh, no, I am no man either." The stranger is unable to recover. This has never happened to him before.
