This modern memorial in Alexandra Park, #Glasgow is one of many similar, where the ashes of loved ones are often scattered & a #tree is used as the marker to remember the deceased. Almost all have a #GravesideOrnament and some have a QR code to an online #epitaph or #obituary

A flamboyant grave. At the back is a stone with a detailed inscription of the family. This is topped by a polished black marble oval with an etched photo of two people. This, in turn, is flanked by two horses on their hind legs. In front, the square memorial has a large urn with artificial flowers on each corner. Other items include a carved open book, a traveller’s caravan, a cross and a dove.

#31DaysOfGraves - day 25 - #GravesideOrnament. This is another grave from nearby Pembury in Kent. There’s a small part of the cemetery set aside for the burial of people from traveller families, and this is one of the graves.

The small grave of the author. A simple rectangular, slate grey gravestone with lots of gifts left behind by admirers: the calculation 6 x 9 = 42 in red on a white oval, several mugs and glasses with pens and paintbrushes, a grey metal (I think) half ball. And a white towel. All referencing his works.

A shiny black marble gravestone is set in a granite wall, topped by a grey marble pediment. Supporting the pediment are two black marble pillars with vertical gold stripes running their length. In front of the gravestone is a grey marble slab on which sits a bronze urn. It contains two pink bulrushes and rainwater. To the right of the slab is a small gold ball and plant pots containing the remains of plants. The gravestone itself is engraved in Chinese characters and includes, at the top left, an oval-shaped picture of a woman in pink floral Chinese costume.
