One for gloomy gravyard spotters. Should you be unaware, 'The Body Beneath is yet another late 60s-early 70s horror co-starring #HighgateCemetery.

New Year's Day. 1st visit to Highgate Cemetery. Beautifully gothic graves and statuary in what is almost a forest. Saw foxes, magpies, robins and wrens. The guided tour was superb. If you've never been, just go - it's a nature and history lovers delight.

A grave with a carved dog resting in front of the headstone, obviously mourning the dead, who is represented by a relief in the headstone. Trees and creepers all around, one thick root of something growing across the grave itself.
The grave of celebrated boxer Tom Sayers (1826-1865). His dog Lion was chief mourner at his funeral. 100,000 people are said to have attended, with some poor sods crashing through the fresher graves in the vicinity.

A cemetery vault with niches for coffins. Up on the highest shelf is a wooden coffin with an old metal sign on the front, lit by a spotlight.
The coffin of Joseph Lister, surgeon and antiseptic pioneer. Also the record holder in fastest leg amputation at 30s. His coffin had fallen apart so they had to give him a new one.

Old, gothic looking graves squished together: from left, a high stone with an urn carved on top, a boxy vault, a stone flat on the earth and a high stone with a horse sculpture on top.
