The rotunda at the gushet of Titwood Place, built by Andrew McIntyre in 1877, architect Robert Turnbull, but probably working to a design by Alexander Thomson, who had died in 1875/

Andrew eventually became a brickmaker and builder himself, and built Titwood Place (La Gelatessa, Titwood Bar, New Anand), another #GreekThomson design, after his brother John died. He later built Salisbury Quadrant (architect Robert Turnbull, Thomson’s partner) but died just as it was completed.

The halls were gutted by fire in 1962, and only this facade, which has since been incorporated into the Mitchell Library complex, now remains.
