A breathtaking upward view of the ornate vaulted ceiling of a Gothic cathedral, featuring a dramatic star-shaped central lantern tower with radiating stone ribs fanning outward in all directions. The ceiling is richly decorated in deep greens and golds with intricate painted patterns. Surrounding the central octagonal lantern are multiple bays filled with vibrant stained glass windows in blues, reds, and greens. Stone carved figures and decorative sculptures line the walls and arches. At the bottom centre, a gilded mosaic or painted apse depicts a religious scene with Christ in Majesty surrounded by figures. The overall perspective creates a dizzying, kaleidoscopic symmetry. This appears to be Ely Cathedral in Cambridgeshire, England — specifically its famous 14th-century Octagon and Lantern Tower, considered one of the great engineering feats of medieval architecture.
