With soft greens all around, this yellow oriole really stands out. He is perched on a large tree branch angling across the lower left corner of the frame. He faces us and is mostly bright yellow. He has a black mask and throat which makes it look like he is wearing a yellow hood. His wings are black with white bands. He looks back over his left shoulder and we can clearly see his slightly curved, pointy, glossy black beak.

Im Vordergrund stehen mehrere Schneeglöckchen mit weißen, glockenförmigen Blüten und schmalen, grünen Blättern. Im Hintergrund und seitlich wachsen zahlreiche Krokusse mit violetten Blüten und leuchtend orangefarbenen Staubgefäßen. Das Sonnenlicht fällt auf die Pflanzen und hebt die zarten Strukturen der Blüten hervor. Der Boden ist mit braunem Laub bedeckt.

I felt bad but had to chase her off...nearly crushed by a fallen tree during Helene, my poor little Japanese maple has been through enough trauma. Maybe time to invest in some organic deer repellent. 🤔
