Photo of Grimjack #26 comic book cover. A giant metal and flesh skull shoots lasers out of its eyeballs as it plows through cracking city buildings. In the foreground, Grimjack, an interdimensional bounty hunter and gunslinger shoots at his enemy, a sci-fi space punk in a vest and tight pants. Around them, people flee in terror. It's a very busy and confusing cover.
Text!
Upper left corner, publisher's mark: "1 First Comics"
Middle: "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Munden's Bar!"
Upper right, pricing: "Sept No. 26, $1.25, $1.75 Canada"
Below all that in giant red letters, title: "GRIMJACK"
Interior comics page from Grimjack#6, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mini-comic. 4 panels in a 2 by 2 grid. The top two establishing-shot panels are much taller than the two informative/conversational panels below. There is a thin yellow rectangle with credits at the bottom of the page.
Panel 1: The Turtles and their robotic scientist companion, Professor Honeycutt, lurk in a cramped city alleyway. All Turtles wear the same red mask with no visible weapons, and, from this page, it is impossible for the reader to tell which turtle is which.
Turtle 1, perched on a dumpster, says "Prof. Honeycutt, do you really think our best chance of getting off this planet lies in a bar?"
Robot Professor Honeycutt, "Indubitably! As I understand it, that's where all the starship crews hang out... They're always looking for cheap help!"
Turtle 2, peering around the corner, "Hey guys-- We're in luck--!"
Panel 2: A cement, double-door, phone-booth-looking shed with a sign above that says, "Munden's Bar" sits in the midst of the WEIRDEST collection of aliens and passers-by.
Turtle 2, off-panel, continues, "Check it out--a bar!"
Another Turtle, off-panel, "That was quick! Ok, let's go for it! But act naturally--don't draw any unwanted attention!"
Panel 3: The group files into the little booth-building.
Robot Professor Honeycutt, "Let's not stay out in the open any longer than we have to--the Federats are everywhere!"
Panel 4: Crowded booth interior, we see the sign on the wall over the domed tops of the turtles heads.
Turtle 1, "Huh? What is this? It's no bigger than a closet!--"
Turtle 2, "Wait...read this sign!"
Sign, "Welcome to Munden's Bar! The Best Bar In [scratched out] 1257, [scratched out] 1509, 9999+ Dimensions! To enter, press button and exit through transdimensional lock." Big black arrow pointing to the red button on the wall. "(Note! Non-oxygen breathers, bring your own atmosphere!)
Turtle 3, "What the heck--push the button, Mike!"
Grimjack #26. Kya, that's not a turtle comic at all!!
No, but it has the very first full-color appearance of the #TMNT in the mini-comic at the back.
The concept may sound familiar to Battle Nexus fans. #Grimjack 's local haunt, Munden's Bar, is pan-dimensional and connects to all worlds.
