Progressives notched a huge win in Illinois's #HD40 on Tuesday when community organizer Miguel Alvelo-Rivera unseated incumbent Democrat Jaime Andrade.
This northwest side district saw one of the last vestiges of the establishment machine fall with Alvelo-Rivera winning by 11.
Progressives are having a good night in the State House:
#HD08: Shantel Franklin ahead by 2,000 votes
#HD13: Demi Palacek (backed by Kat and Jan Schakowsky) up by 1,100 votes
#HD40: Miguel Alvelo-Rivera is close to unseating incumbent Jaime Andrade
Virginia's #HD40 was the most surprisingly close State House election in the commonwealth this year.
This Trump+9 district covering the Salem area saw Republican incumbent Joe McNamara only win by six against an underfunded Democratic opponent. Spanberger only lost here by one!
Florida counts quick! And they've just tallied up two more sizable overperformances for Dems:

LaVon Bracy Davis (D)- 72.6%
Willie Montague (R)- 27.4%
#HD40 (Harris+35):
RaShon Young (D)- 75.1%
Tuan Le (R)- 24.9%
22 and 15 point overperformances from 2024 respectively!
Early/Mail-in votes in for the two Florida special elections tonight in #SD15 (Harris+23) and #HD40 (Harris+35). Dems are up by 49 and 51 points respectively.
Election day should lower those margins, but big overperformances from 2024 should be the final outcome.
