Northern Kentucky Secures Series Win Over UNC Greensboro  After falling 12–6 on the road at Tennessee, the Northern Kentucky Norse returned to Bill Aker Baseball Complex for a three‑game home series against UNC Greensboro, taking the opener 14–8, dropping Game 2 by a 17–6 margin, and closing out the weekend with a 4–3 victory to secure the series win. Game One Northern Kentucky wasted no time setting the tone in the series opener, striking first in the bottom of the first inning.

Northern Kentucky Swept by Rival Wright State After a 15–12 home loss to Bellarmine, Northern Kentucky traveled to Dayton for a three‑game Horizon League series against rival Wright State but were swept, falling 9–5 in Game 1, 14–4 in Game 2, and 6–1 in Game 3.  Game One After two scoreless innings, Northern Kentucky broke through in the top of the third. Hunter Friedberg drew a 3–1 walk, and Alex Brazer followed with a single down the right‑field line to push him into scoring position.

Golden Grizzlies Drop Road Series to League-Leading Wright State A weekend of back-and-forth offense ultimately tilted in Wright State’s favor, as the Oakland Golden Grizzlies baseball team (6-19, 4-5 Horizon) dropped two of three on the road, unable to overcome an electric Raider offense. Oakland Storms Back in Ninth to Knock Off Michigan In a matchup against the Michigan Wolverines on the road this Tuesday, the Oakland Golden Grizzlies baseball team (5-17, 3-3 Horizon) rallied back in the final inning to claim a momentum-building 7-6 win. Although this win doesn’t shift the Horizon League standings, the Golden Grizzlies remain tied in second place with Northern Kentucky. Kyle Revere was a standout performer in this game for Oakland, finishing with four hits and two RBIs.

YSU Loses Series at Georgetown The Youngstown State baseball team (3-17, 1-2 Horizon) visited Big East Conference foe Georgetown (15-10) for a three-game series at Capital One Park in Tysons, Virginia. The Penguins pulled off a win on Friday to open the series, but suffered back-to-back losses to the Hoyas to conclude the weekend. Friday's line: Youngstown State (R-H-E-LOB): 3-9-2-4 Georgetown (R-H-E-LOB): 2-5-2-10 W: Braden Gebhardt (1-1)

Season recap Overall record: 19-41 Conference record: 10-20 Horizon League finish: 5th Horizon League Tournament result: 2-2, 4th place The numbers do not jump off the page and scream great season. A brutal non-conference road slate saw an accumulation of losses that made it tough to make up ground on the overall record, but the struggles continued into a lot of the conference season.

What is at stake in Oakland’s last regular season series For much of the season, the Oakland Golden Grizzlies have found themselves at the basement of the six team Horizon League standings. Following the most successful stretch in recent program history that included three straight conference winning seasons, and two conference championship game appearances, this year has been a disappointment overall. But all is not lost on the 2025 season. The Golden Grizzlies have begun to play better ball as of late, going 6-7 in their last 13 and 4-4 in their last eight conference games.

Oakland's last series against #HLBASE foe Milwaukee may not have conference tourney implications, per se. But a successful weekend could get the Grizz out of the bottom of the standings. Griffin Beers has the story.

Norse Get Back to Winning Ways The NKU Baseball team came into their weekend series at Milwaukee in a late season funk, losers of their last three games and looking to get back to how they were playing when they won six in a row. NKU was coming off a solid outing on the road the game prior as they gave #12 ranked Tennessee all they could handle before eventually falling 7-5.

Oakland suffers home sweep to Wright State before securing two non con wins Last weekend, the baseball king of the Horizon League showed the Golden Grizzlies and their crowd why they have been so good. Wright State scored 41 runs over the course of three games as Oakland dropped three straight to the Raiders. It dropped the Golden Grizzlies to 4-14 in conference play. Game one was tight throughout. Oakland starter Tanner Ware went five strong innings, holding a potent offense to one run.

Oakland ran into the buzzsaw that is Wright State, getting swept in the process. But it wasn't all bad news for the Grizz, as they came out of Toledo with a pair of wins. Griffin Beers has the story. #HLBASE

Norse Sweep Mastodons The NKU baseball team entered the Easter weekend series with Purdue Fort Wayne having taken two of three from Youngstown State on the road and a non-conference matchup win against Southern Indiana at home. The schedule makers did the Norse no favors sending them back on the road for a matchup against the Mastodons (6-31 overall, 5-12 Horizon League), with the positive being that the home team was losers of six straight.
