In our survey among Helmholtz data professionals, 60% report to assign persistent identifiers (PIDs) on a regular basis. Assigning PIDs (e.g., DOIs) is a key step toward making research data better citable and findable by others. By using PIDs, researchers can improve the discoverability and reusability of their data, leading to more effective research outcomes and better collaboration.
