Fully agree. For years, following our POP-UP RCT in @thelancet.bsky.social 2016 we have been using preperitoneal catheters in all open #HPBsurgery (excl chron pancreatitis, COPD 3-4) with excellent results. In addition we place a depot bupivacaine on the future catheter sites at start of surgery.
