Cotton fabric folded below a small, scrappy skein of handspun mohair. Dye experiments from left to right: heuchera root (natural alum base for all) , marigold and pomegranate, marigold, pomegranate. Mohair skein: marigold.
That spun from the fold mohair experiment got a little colour yesterday with further experiments using marigolds from last season’s garden. Cotton experiments with pomegranate as well. #handspun #naturaldye

An Easter egg shaped ball of green yarn and some red and white yarn wrapped on a spindle. The spindle has a notch formed by branch growth and a star shaped whorl.
A #handspun experiment with some #handdyed combed top.
The red is wool dyed with pokeweed berries. The green is commerical dyed combed top. The white is the "cotton?" from the top of the medicine bottle.
The spindle is made from a burning bush twig and salt dough.
It will be called Christmas snow.

370 yards, 5.5 ounces, 1076 yards per pound which the grist calculator calculates as laceweight.
BUT, isn't around 1076 ypp a worsted-ish weight?

A *bleepin* sweater quantity of mostly hand dyed fiber braids for hand spinning. Blue, green, cream, rust, purple, beige, and magenta. This is going to be amazeballs.

The way the colors stacked surprised me. There were what I though was vast expanses of pale, almost white lavender and I was afraid that they'd all end up plied together making long whitish blobs, but no!

Did an increase round and actually have the right number of stitches! Had to do the weaving the orange yarn through it but I got the same number twice & it's what I was aiming for so yay!
