We also participated in the Queer History and Heritage Trail at #histday25. We highlighted some LGBTQ+ historical figures in our archives, using facsimile documents.
The original documents can be requested in the reading room.

People attending History Day at Senate House.
It was a great turn out at the recent History Day fair held at Senate House. Our Subject Liaison Librarians and colleagues from Special Collections staffed a stand at the event promoting our extensive collections, both print and digital. #HistDay25
This was a great day. So many wonderful organisations representing a variety of intradisciplinary perspectives.
I will definitely be back next year.

Here I am, caught on camera at #HistDay25 getting over-excited about the fact that a 1960s folk-rock band named themselves after a medieval legal document!! I was at the event with my fab @antiquaries.bsky.social colleagues & we chatted to over 100 students & history-lovers. A truly inspiring day.
There were so many amazing pins at #HistDay25 - and several badge-making machines this year too (an exciting new addition). I'll be very proud to wear these in future 😊
Belated #HistDay25 post!
Had a lovely time yesterday - lovely to chat to and meet so many people 💗🏛️
Still thinking about yesterday

It was so lovely to see you. Can’t wait to have a proper catchup (and Lamington) soon ❤️
Happy #HistDay25! 🏛️
A number of the historic archives featured on EE are included on the 'History Day: Discover Collections' site. 😍

My favourite acquisition from #HistDay25, which was, as usual, a great opportunity to join my colleagues in spreading the word about @histparl.bsky.social, and to find out about lots of other exciting resources, archives, libraries and more. Thanks @ihr.bsky.social and all the organisers!

Great to be part of #HistDay25 and talk all about Kew, as well as exploring for myself lots of new archives and collections!
Always a great day to promote our collections and engage with researchers and other organisations 🤓 #HistDay25

A selection of copied Library, Illustrations and Archives material dipslayed across a table with a black tablecloth. There are two upright perspex holders with advertisements for the current exhibitions at Kew "Flora Indica" and "Persia Reimagined". Botanical illustrations on the table are of a carnivorous plant, painted by Marianne North, and fly agaric mushrooms, drawn by Elsie Wakefield. Other items on the table are copies of a handwritten letter, a copy of Curtis' Botanical Magazine, a Rocque map of Kew Gardens, a colour chart by Burchell, as well as stacks of postcards and badges for visitors to take.
Today, our Graduate Trainees have been representing Kew Library & Archives for #HistDay25 at Senate House Library. It's been a great way to share highlights from our collections with potential students and researchers as well as discover more about other libraries and archives! #KewLA

Selected History Day swag! What an incredible buzz and an amazing opportunity to explore archives and collections from across the UK, right here in Senate House. Thank you @ihrlibrary.bsky.social and @senatehouselib.bsky.social! #HistDay25
The enthusiasm for #History at this year's #HistDay25 is considerable and palpable.
History's popularity and appeal is an asset we must work with to better demonstrate the personal, professional, civic and social value of historical knowledge and understanding.
