This is Peter. Peter was an enslaved man in the US in 1862, freed under the #EmancipationProclamation 1/29/1863. He was beaten by Artayon Carrier at the direction of Capt. John Lyons, who enslaved 38 people. We must see & remember images like this. #HistoryWillShow #ScourgedBack #NationalParks
