Sly Stone, visionary funk frontman of the Family Stone, has died at age 82 The musical visionary led a multi-racial funk band that produced five Top 10 hits in the late 1960s and early '70s.

I became a mesmerized fan as a child when I saw him perform on Ed Sullivan's show, and I've loved his music and poetry ever since.
RIP, and thank you for the beats that will live on in support of human parity.
