When I started using Linux last August, most of the configs I cloned from GitHub were massive monolith scripts. Then, I saw a screenshot of a terminal on Discord-- a simple `ls -la ~/.config/zsh` --and it changed everything. It was modular.

I have hyprland on my lab pc (considering a switch to niri), and just had a situation in which I couldn't get gamepads to work no matter what I did.

Solution: make sure I had the `input` group so I had permission to access `/dev/input/*`...... * facepalms * 🤦‍♀️

At the bottom, there is a quote by Captain Jean-Luc Picard, saying: The first duty of every Starfleet Officer is to the truth, whether it's scientific truth or historical truth or personal truth.

I honestly hated the "splash" quotes from the #Hyprland background image - they are immature at best.

But when I had the idea of replacing them by my own set of quotes, it really grew on my instantly.

So in the end, it's all about context and customization […]
