Just had to edit a cover letter to say PREVIOUSLY funded by the NIH IRACDA program, now that it's September. (The termination was effective at the end of the fiscal year, which was 8/31.) 😞

But this war is impacting ALL universities, especially our smaller hispanic-serving R1s in New Mexico, where dozens of graduate students are struggling with recent stop work orders and loss of funding and where our postdoc training program #IRACDA was also cancelled.
Saying that these programs "no longer effectuate agency priorities" is absolutely ridiculous. They are removing training opportunities from hundreds of committed, engaged and excited trainees at every single career stage. Absolute destruction. #postdoc #IRACDA

The #IRACDA program is brilliant on many levels - training future educators, increasing access to postdoc positions, increasing access to research for undergrads at minority-serving institutions. I learned SO MUCH as a fellow. Of course it would be on the chopping block. My heart goes out. 🧪💔

#FIRST #IRACDA was a fantastic opportunity for me to continue to learn & grow as a post doc scientist, mentor, & future professor.
I’ve known before I even started grad school that I wanted to pursue a #IRACDA post-doctoral fellowship to develop the skills I would need to teach at a PUI. Now, thanks to the ban on diversity initiatives, I’m not sure if that program will continue. If you have more info on this, pls let me know!
