Back in the office after returning from Porto yesterday. I had a blast at #ISHPSSB2025! Thanks for all the great talks, the amazing community and a special thanks to everyone who came to my talk on the morning after the conference dinner to listen to me talking about the history of plant agency! 🥰🌳

I gave an overview of my current PhD research into the historic relationship between morphological and physiological classifications of neurons 🧠
Complexity and coarse graining in particular came up several times at #ishpssb2025. I don’t recall hearing them mentioned so frequently in previous meetings. I should note that the dialectical biologists have a richer ontological picture and that biology inspired thinking about complex systems.
