Slide with the title "Advice: Don't be fooled!" and some bullet points saying:

…by people with long publication lists;
…by people who are long in the game;
…by people who advocate guidelines and established methods over creativity;
…by people who speak with authority and dogma.

Next to the text on the right-hand side is a diagram representing a two-propeller plane from WWII era which shows where returning planes were hit.

Trends in Citation Patterns for New Investigators and Manuscript Writing for Health-related Quality of Life Research

For early-career researchers, including graduate students, recent doctoral graduates, and faculty members, in Quality of Life research, navigating the publication process can be daunting. This session will first delve into the citation trajectories and burgeoning domains of interest from the ISOQOL New Investigator Special Interest Group members. The session will then draw on expertise of editors of ISOQOL journals to provide advice for early career researchers to enhance the publication of their patient-reported outcome papers. QLR and JPRO editors will share advice and their view on trends in the field from 2017-2024. This session will also include an interactive discussion about skills needed in writing better academic papers.

Today, I'll chair my last QLR board meeting, and Oral Session 109 on guidelines and good practices.

#ISOQOL_NewInvestigators kindly invited me and #JPRO Rasa Ruseckaite to present on manuscript writing, and I am looking forward to meeting my 2024 mentees!
