Even as a #NightshiftEditor I had an automated reference checker at my disposal:
every reference in a paper was pre-screened. Those that were found were highlighted as such. The others, usually a small proportion, I could check by hand.
Not saying I/we didn't miss any. But the technology is there.

This session will first delve into the citation trajectories and burgeoning domains of interest from the ISOQOL New Investigator Special Interest Group members. The session will then draw on expertise of editors of ISOQOL journals to provide advice for early career researchers to enhance the publication of their patient-reported outcome papers. QLR and JPRO editors will share advice and their view on trends in the field from 2017-2024. This session will also include an interactive discussion about skills needed in writing better academic papers.
