#Theremin It uses heterodyning: mixing two nearby radio frequencies produces an audible signal by difference. #physics #iTeachPhysics
#SpeedOfLight The in-depth study of black hole entropy increases our understanding of the intricate interaction between gravity, thermodynamics, and quantum theory. Quite a real challenge. #Physics #iTeachPhysics

This video has excellent 3-D visualizations of the trajectories of Apollo 8, Artemis 1, and Artemis 2. It also has great depictions of the Moon’s complicated orbit around the Earth, including the precession of its orbital plane! #ITeachPhysics ⚛️🔭🪐 youtu.be/PNQ7MoL7erI
🌎️ Earth Day is approaching soon! Here are a few facts about our home planet:
1. Some scientists believe earth could have been purple billions of years ago.
2. Every day, 100 tons of interplanetary dust fall to Earth's surface!

#BlackHoles Astronauts appear weightless not because gravity is absent, but because both the spacecraft and its crew are in free fall around the Earth. By sharing the same acceleration, the sensation of weight disappears inside the spacecraft. #iTeachPhysics #Physics

The Artemis launch highlighting the bright orange flames coming out of the rocket engines
An interesting fact about Artemis is that the flames coming out of the rocket are bright orange but in most TV cameras the pixels saturate so it looks white. This photograph is closer to what you would see with the human eye. #ngss #iteachphysics
Did this AP Physics rubric really award full credit even if the final answer was wrong?
It did. Here's the reasoning. #iTeachPhysics

Day 134 Physical Sci - did the crater lab with fine dirt, marble, steel ball, and bocce ball. Great weather today so able to do it outside! Graphed data in @desmos.com

In the coming months, we will be sharing more about what it means to be a member-driven organization and a professional home for physics education. We invite you to be part of that conversation and stay connected with the community that defines AAPT. #PhysicsTeachers #ITeachPhysics #AAPT

#ExpandingUniverse The idea that we don't occupy a privileged place in the universe is supported by these symmetries. From another distant galaxy, the overall appearance of the cosmos would be statistically similar to what we observe from Earth. #physics #iTeachPhysics #Cosmology

Day 133 Physical Sci - how do we know how planets form? Focused on craters today. Prepping simple crater lab, ran out of sand so took some time for students to dig out some fine dirt

Day 133 Physics - Started an Archimedes Buoyancy lab which will continue tmrw. Today was a lot of problem solving with setting equipment up & reviewing how overflow beakers work.
Began with an intro of what weighs more, @rhettallain.bsky.social did a great video on IG #iteachphysics #teachphysics

#Theremin It became popular in science-fiction soundtracks, although it also has classical and experimental repertoire performed in concert halls. #Physics #iTeachPhysics
#ExpandingUniverse If the universe were not homogeneous on large scales, our cosmological laws would be much more complex. The observed regularity suggests that the cosmos evolved coherently from a common initial state. #Physics #iTeachPhysics
#SpeedOfLight The concept of black hole entropy raises very intriguing questions about the fate of the information consumed by these enigmatic cosmic entities. Does it disappear? Can it be recovered? Or are you just suffering from increased clutter? #physics #iTeachPhysics
