𝗣𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗘𝗻𝗴): A Southern Scarce Swallowtail perched on a rosemary flower, its wings spread showing its characteristic black and white striped pattern and the distinctive elongated tail on its hindwings. Apparently, although this is a matter of debate, this Southern Swallowtail (I. feisthamelii) is a distinct species from the European Scarce Swallowtail (I. podalirius), which occurs only on the Iberian Peninsula. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗰𝗶𝗼́𝗻 (𝗘𝘀𝗽): Mariposa Chupaleches posada sobre una flor de romero, con las alas extendidas mostrando su característico patrón de franjas negras y blancas y la distintiva cola alargada en las alas posteriores. Al parecer, aunque esto es objeto de debate, la Chupaleches es una especie diferente de la Podalirio europea que se da únicamente en la península Ibérica. 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗘𝗻𝗴): Southern Scarce Swallowtail nectaring from rosemary flowers, its wings seen in profile against a blurred green background. This specimen has lost the swallowtail-shaped wing extensions (which give it its name in English). 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗰𝗶𝗼́𝗻 (𝗘𝘀𝗽): Mariposa Chupaleches libando el néctar de las flores de romero, con las alas vistas de perfil sobre un fondo verde difuminado. Este ejemplar ha perdido las prolongaciones de las alas en forma de cola de golondrina (que le dan nombre en inglés).
